Climate change: causes,
effects and predictions
Almost everything we do in some way contributes to climate change.
The effects of Global Climate Change are ever more evident in our everyday lives. Panama, while very likely carbon negative (it sequesters more carbon than it produces) is expected to be highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Despite frequent mentions of the effects of climate change in the news and social media, many people continue to have many questions about its causes and consequences. In this talk, Steven Paton, director of the physical monitoring program at the Smithsonian tropical Research Institute will try to provide a non-specialist’s description of what is climate change, the best evidence to support the theory, and predictions for the future.
