Through collaboration with indigenous communities in the Bayano region, the Smithsonian Institution and McGill University have implemented reforestation projects that have accomplished much more than planting trees and offsetting carbon emissions. Join us to learn about the history, challenges, and strengths of this collaboration and about efforts to improve and decolonize forest monitoring and data access in indigenous communities through the co-creation of information.
