Pseudoscorpions: Little guardians of crevices (public talk in Spanish)
August 29, 2025
Key aspects of their behavior, diet, and foraging relationships will be explored, highlighting the biodiversity hidden in the microhabitats of the tropical forest canopy.
In this talk, we will explore the natural history and behavior of Paratemnoides nidificator, a social pseudoscorpion that inhabits bark crevices in the tropical forests of Panama. Through nighttime observations and the recording of biotic and abiotic factors, we have uncovered clues about its activity, potential prey, and phoretic hosts. These small but surprising predators show us that there is still much to discover in the tiny world that inhabits tree bark.
