Policy on Use of Drugs, Cigarettes and Alcoholic Beverages

STRI aims to promote and maintain an environment that respects individual freedom and promotes the health, safety and well-being of all members of its community. To meet these objectives, STRI prohibits the consumption of cigarettes, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs by visitors to the various centers of the institute, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Panama. The use and consumption of illegal drugs within the station is strictly prohibited at all times.

 

Policy on Animal Handling

At the Bocas Research Station you will find animals in exhibits and on the premises. You are not allowed to touch or feed the animals, whether in exhibitions or the wild. If you find an animal in danger or that appears to be unwell, please inform station staff. Do not attempt to touch the animal because it may be dangerous. If you are bitten or become injured by any animal, you must inform the staff immediately in order to receive adequate help.
