Light-colored shirt or t-shirt, either long sleeve or short sleeve.
Long pants. Shorts are not permitted during the forest walk. Please wear forest colors to blend in.
Shoes or boots. Partially open shoes such as sport sandals are not permitted during the forest walk.
If you suffer from allergies or any other medical condition you must bring your own medication.
Water bottle. You may refill from the water stations at BCI.
Official identification such as a Panamanian cédula, passport or student identification.
BCI’s waiver of liability printed and signed as instructed.
Hat or cap
Long socks
Masking tape to tape your socks over to pants in order to avoid chiggers and/or ticks.
Insect repellent.
Raincoat. It may rain at any time in a tropical rainforest though odds are highest in rainy season (April through December).
Pen, pencil, notebook, camera, binoculars.
An extra set of dry clothes in order to change if it rains.
As we are not able to sell breakfast to visitors, we suggest you to have a good breakfast before going to BCI or bring your own breakfast which you will be able to eat at the dining hall at BCI. Food cannot be eaten on the boat.
