Research expeditions canceled. Data collection stopped in its tracks. An entire season’s data nullified. Fellows and visitors returning home months earlier than planned. Dissertations, theses and job searches on hold. Science and lives have been upended. Opportunities lost.

These are just some of the immediate impacts of COVID-19 on STRI science and we need your help!

Jump start funds are urgently needed to support:

• Fellows that must return to Panama to complete their studies
• Re-starting long-term monitoring programs
• Launching research expeditions that were postponed

Federal appropriations will not cover these costs, so we rely on your generosity to help jump-start research and expeditions on Day 1. Having the funds in-hand when STRI re-opens will ensure our researchers can get right back to doing what they do best: pushing the boundaries of science and unraveling the mysteries of tropical biodiversity.
