¿Cómo maximizamos nuestras contribuciones como científicos y servidores públicos?

Los científicos de STRI ofrecen información imparcial sobre ambientes tropicales, desde selvas tropicales hasta arrecifes de coral, para el bien público. Nuestra ciencia sirve a todos los sectores de la sociedad en los Estados Unidos, en Panamá, donde estamos ubicados, y en todo el trópico. Como una plataforma de investigación tropical de primer nivel, organizamos estudios a largo plazo a gran escala y convocamos a científicos de todo el mundo.

Como científico que dedicó su carrera a las instituciones públicas, creo que un servicio civil fuerte es la columna vertebral de una sociedad democrática. Los funcionarios públicos son los administradores de la información que sirve al bien público y garantizamos que el conocimiento y la capacidad institucional se conserven durante la transición política al más alto nivel del gobierno nacional.
