Government enables a special hemodialysis unit in Coclé

To decongest public hospitals, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) set up a hemodialysis unit in the Río Hato sector, Coclé province, which will attend to patients with chronic kidney failure.

This unit will allow patients at risk to be cared for in a separate room, eliminating any contagion vulnerability.

For its part, the Ministry of Health reports that the two patients who left the Intensive Care Unit are recovering while being monitored and under medical treatment.

The National Government asks the population to stay home and comply with the national quarantine. The Ministries of Health and Security will impose the sanctions established in Executive Decree 507 to preserve peace, health and safety throughout the country.

Blood donation center

The Caja de Seguro Social (CSS) has set up a blood donation center located on the first floor of Niko’s Café at Ricardo J. Alfaro (Tumba Muerto), opposite the Condado del Rey neighborhood.

Donations from this center are intended for CSS patients affected by COVID-19 who urgently need transfusions. Their hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The organization “Dona Vida” will receive blood donations for patients from the National Oncology Institute, the Hospital del Niño (Children's Hospital) and the Santo Tomás Hospital. Its service center is located in front of the Caja de Ahorros Bank Headquarters on Vía España. it will operate from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 26 and 27. It is necessary to schedule an appointment by calling 386-5358 or WhatsApp 6462-0975.

Donors will be able to leave their homes in accordance with mobility regulations established for the national quarantine. It is reiterated that staying home and washing your hands frequently with soap and water prevents the spread of COVID-19.
